Hi, I'm Pieter from REC. Are you interested in our postgraduate program in Digital Storytelling at KASK School of Arts in Ghent? Or maybe you already registered? Either way: let me show you some of the projects we're currently working on.
Wies is one of my students. He is doing an interactive story on the future of his hometown Leuven. In a Facebook group, he engages people to share ideas of his beloved city by blogging, vlogging and asking for their opinions. He will deduct the best or most popular ideas and present them to Leuven's mayor Louis Tobback. That is: if he gets invited.
Two of my bravest students - the feet are Flore and Louise's - joined forces, gathered the least gear they needed to call themselves documentary makers and swiftly traveled to Mumba? for their internship. Their internship story 'no school, no skating' and other pictures and video's got published on VRT's Vranckx @ de Nomaden.
I watched this TEDx video yesterday, and promptly decided to put more Augmented Reality (think Pokémon Go!) in next year's program. Adding virtual storytelling elements to our real surroundings by using our smartphones or even special glasses seems like a great opportunity for future creative storytellers.
And if you have any questions or doubts, please call me or send me an e-mail. In two weeks time, I'll post another update with great ideas on digital storytelling. See you later!
